The first annual Lowe’s Spring-Up Contest is a joint national promotion of Century 21 Real Estate and Lowe’s Companies (Lowe’s). The contest sets out to motivate Century 21 franchisees to spruce up the physical appearance of their Century 21 offices through modest, innovative, and effective enhancements. “We created an office of the future that is great to look at, functional, and fully complemented with technology,” says Doris Hardy, the broker and owner of Century 21 Doris Hardy & Associates LLC office in historical Columbus, Mississippi. The office features furnishings manufactured from recycled materials, energy efficient lighting, building materials, and technology. It is a paperless environment where communication between agents, brokers, and clients is primarily via e-mail and/or texting.   

The contest focuses on four high-traffic areas, entryway/exterior, lobby, conference room, and restroom. To compete, Century 21 franchisees must demonstrate their improvements/enhancements to each of the contest’s office areas. “When our clients visit this Century 21 office they have their choice of several different decors and settings,” says Hardy. “We have created a destination that is fun to visit, interesting to explore, and comfortable. It is the perfect environment to complete business and reward our clients and employees.” Hardy designed the offices herself and they appeal to a wide variety of clients. There is an Asian Room which features Eastern-influenced art and furniture, a Southwestern appointed Adobe Room, a Metro Room decorated with modern furnishings, an audio visual-equipped lounge, and a back lawn for clients with children.

The Doris Hardy & Associates’ Century 21 Office of the Future renovation advanced to the multi-state zone competition for the “Most Improved Century 21 Office” after winning the “Best Looking Century 21 Office” in Mississippi competition. It successfully competed in zone eight which was comprised of Century 21 offices from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Kentucky. By winning the “Most Improved Century 21 Office” in zone eight, Century 21 Doris Hardy & Associates LLC received a Lowe’s Golden Hammer award, and three Dell 10” mini-laptops each with the CENTURY 21 logo on its lid and loaded with Microsoft PowerPoint software.
